Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur was the largest personal residence, offering almost 372 rooms, a private museum, a billiards table, tennis and squash courts, and an indoor swimming pool. This palace was built as the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family. Its construction was started in 1929 and finished in 1943 under the rule of Maharaja Umaid Singh. It is spread over land of 26 acres, from which 15 acres of land has a garden.

The museum exhibits stuffed leopards, lighthouse shapes, and Royal and classic cars of kings are also displayed in front of the museum in the garden. A big memorable flag, given to Maharaja Jaswant Singh by Queen Victoria in 1877, is also present there.

Sardar Government Museum Jodhpur:

Sardar Government Museum Jodhpur is located in a public park (Ummed Bagh) Jodhpur. It was built in the era of Maharaja Umed Singh by Henry Vaughan Lanchester in 1909 and opened to the public in 1936. The museum has an area of about 18,000 square feet.

What to do:

This museum has about 400 sculptures, 10 ancient inscriptions, artwork, ancient coins, metallic objects, arms, toys, stone sculptures, and many other objects that are simply astonishing. Paartap Singh made this artificial lake in 1972. It is spread over an area of 0.32 square miles. In Ancient times, there were palaces and gardens in those places built by two rulers- Bhim Singh and Takhat Singh which were destroyed later for the lake.

Ingenious rock formation mountains surround this lake. This lake carries its water from Hathi Nehar and is also connected with the Indira Gandhi Canal.
